2001-2007:
The Beginning
Before I became a full-time writer, I had a career in medicine. The cool thing about medical skills is... once you know how to heal people, you have that skill for life. So I don't regret it. What I do regret is the nonsensical, red-tape, bureaucracy that strangles any real innovation and reform in our frustrating, inept and expensive medical establishment. (By the way... the people who run it want it to stay exactly as it is... which is why I left.)
But I learned something else during my time in medicine... I realized I need a way to speak directly to people who were as frustrated and disturbed as I was. I knew the internet provided me with a platform to reach people. What I didn't know was... how to use it to get my message across. I was already headed in a direction that would see me leave medicine - and turn me into a successful writer and marketer.
2008-2017:
My First Digital Product
My first effort was a flop... So was my second... And my third. But each time, I was learning valuable insights about what it took to write persuasively and create an online career. I knew the breakthrough was coming... I just didn't know it would take me a decade more of struggle and effort to finally get a break. I was a true "20-year-overnight-success."
Trying to look confident after my interview at Legacy Research. I got hired to work at The Agora and did $40 million in sales.
2018:
The Big Leagues
In April 2018, I got hired by the 800-pound gorilla of internet publishing and marketing - The Agora. During the three-plus years I spent there, my ideas generated almost $40 million in revenue - more than all the other junior copywriters combined except one (and he was a junior in name only).
Equally important to me, I even got to work on a project with the firm's legendary founder - Bill Bonner - helping craft his last-ever book promo.
During my three-plus years at Legacy, we shattered every record for the company - raking in more than $400 million in revenue during 2021 alone.
2019-Present:
Barefoot Marketing LLC
In 2019, I launched my own online, info product - helping people with acid reflux recover without more pills or doctor visits. That effort came roaring out of the gate to the tune of $350K in revenue in year one.
Then, in 2021, Sharon and I relocated to Puerto Rico to beat the IRS. We also welcomed Claudio into the world .
Capitalizing on what I like to refer to as "the best education money can't buy," Sharon and I took our time at The Agora and launched Barefoot Marketing LLC.
